Location

In the heart of Barcelona, a stone’s throw from La Rambla, Plaza Catalunya (Plaça de Catalunya) and Plaza Universitat (Plaça Universitat), the Hotel Lleó enjoys a privileged position among the 3-star hotels in Barcelona.

Being close to the subway stations and tourist and bus stops, the hotel is ideal for visiting the center of Barcelona comfortably on foot and for experiencing the lively and cosmopolitan atmosphere that makes this city one of the European capitals of the new trends in culture, art and lifestyle.

La Rambla, which begins at Plaça Catalunya (plaça de Catalunya), 100 meters away from the Hotel Lleó is Barcelona’s most famous promenade. This long and lively tree-lined avenue crosses the city between stores, cafes and historic buildings filled with street performers and stalls of all kinds. La Boquería, a colourful market in the middle of the Rambla, is worth a visit.

5 minutes from the hotel, for those who love contemporary art, is the MACBA, Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona, and in a few minutes you reach the suggestive Barri Gòtic, the Gothic quarter, a fascinating labyrinth of alleys, religious and civic center of Barcelona where the great Cathedral of Barcelona and the Picasso Museum are located, on Montcada street.

Hotel Lleó is also a good starting point for Passeig de Gràcia, Barcelona’s most chic area, for elegant and refined shopping along streets and buildings in the Art Nouveau style such as La Pedrera or Casa Milà and Casa Batllò, both the work of Antoni Gaudì, Barcelona’s great architect. Among Gaudì’s most famous works, worth a visit during a stay at this Barcelona hotel, are the Sagrada Familia, a fantastic cathedral church, Parc Güell and the Güell Palace, with its original curvilinear shapes.
